No hard feelings towards Arteta - Cesc Sunday, December 30, 2007
Cesc Fabregas insisted that there were no hard feelings towards his good friend Mikel Arteta after the latter was sent off for elbowing him in the Gunners' 4-1 Premier League win over Everton on Saturday.
Fabregas made the most of it but his compatriot did raise his arm.
The Gunners maestro told Setanta Sports: "He (connected with) me with his elbow - I don't mind because he's my friend but this is football and it just happened."
Fabregas stressed that Arsenal's impressive character shone in the second half, at the start of which they were trailing.
He went on: "We didn't play for the whole game but we showed great character in the second half.
"When I made my debut, we won here and to win here is great because it has always been a hard place to win.
"It's just another performance from Arsenal - we are at the top, but it doesn't mean anything unless we're top at the end of the season."
The midfielder paid tribute to Eduardo, who netted twice - the first very early in the second half.
"The first goal was very, very important. Eduardo deserved it because he's been working really hard. He's has few chances but has shown everybody what he can do."
