Cesc Fábregas 'certain' to join Barcelona says next president Friday, June 18, 2010
Barcelona's president-elect says he is certain that Cesc Fábregas will sign for the club this summer.
Sandro Rosell, who replaces Joan Laporta as president on 1Â July, said yesterday that he is "convinced" the Arsenal captain will move to Camp Nou by the start of next season and that the club will continue its pursuit of him.
Arsenal turned down a formal offer from Barcelona for Fábregas on 2 June. Laporta told a news conference on Monday that efforts to sign the midfielder were currently "on standby".
Fábregas has said that the only team he would leave Arsenal for is Barcelona, where he started his career as a teenager in the youth team.
